ICT Enabling Scholarships for 2010
Value $3,000
In view of an impending shortage of ICT graduates, The University of Queensland has taken the initiative to encourage and enable school-leavers to join its programs leading to careers in the Information and Communications Technology industry.
Eligibility
ICT Enabling Scholarships, to the value of $3,000 each, are awarded to students based on their year 12 results. To be eligible to apply for an ICT Enabling Scholarship you must be an Australian student or permanent resident applying for a Commonwealth Supported Place in one of the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Information Technology
- Bachelor of Multimedia Design
- Bachelor of Engineering (Software or Computer Systems Engineering)
If you are applying for a dual-degree which includes one of these degrees, you can still apply for an ICT Enabling Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded based on OP score or equivalent. In 2009, scholarships were awarded to applicants with an OP3 or better.
How to Apply
- Apply via QTAC to one of UQ's ICT programs listed above.
- Complete and submit the online application form, or download and submit a paper-based application form to The School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, UQ (please see application form for more details).
- Enrol at UQ in Semester 1, 2010 in the following courses
- CSSE1001 Introduction to Software Engineering I
- ELEC1000 Introduction to Electrical Engineering
- MATH1061 Introduction to Information Systems
- INFS1200 Introduction to Information Systems
- MMDS1400 Introduction to Web Design
- Check your UQ student email after 31 March 2010 to see if you have been awarded a scholarship. Scholarships will be paid as soon as possible. Successful applicants will be notified by email. Students must meet the above conditions to be awarded a scholarship.
