The student must find sponsorship for:

• Tuition fees. In 2008, the tuition fees for international PhD & MPhil students are AU$27,500 per annum or AU$13,750 per semester.
• Compulsory overseas student health cover (OSHC).  In 2008, the basic plan for a single student was AU$349 per annum.

For PhD study, ITEE may provide:

• A tax free living allowance scholarship valued at AU$10,003.50 per annum for a period of six semesters (three years) with provision for a one semester extension to a maximum period of seven semesters (3.5 years).

To be eligible for this school funding, an applicant must:

• Confirm supervision for a PhD project with an ITEE academic
• Advisor must be able to fund a component of this scholarship
• Confirm alternative sponsorship for tuition fees
• Be formally offered a place in the PhD program by the university

Students may apply for admission and commence at any time throughout the year.

Students who are not eligible for this award include:

• MPhil students
• PhD students who are fully sponsored for both tuition fees and living expenses by government schemes
