 The Accenture Scholarship In ITEE

THE ACCENTURE SCHOLARSHIP IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (May each year)

 (Originally established in 1988 as the Andersen Consulting Prize in Computer Science.  Revised and updated in 2002.  Maintained by an annual gift from Accenture.)

 1.  The Scholarship is open to final year students and is awarded for the purpose of assisting a meritorious student to study honours in the field of Information Technology and enineering.

 2.     A candidate for the scholarship must be enrolled in the final year (fourth/honours) in one of the following programs:

(a)The Honours program in the Bachelor of Information Technology; or

(b)The Bachelor of Science(Honours in Information Technology) program; or

(c)The Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Software Engineering) program.

3.  The scholarship is awarded each year by the Senate on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE). To assist in the selection process the Head of the School of ITEE will convene a selection committee whose membership will include the Head of the School of ITEE or nominee, the Final/Honours Year Coordinator or one other member of the School nominated by the Head, and a representative from Accenture.

 4.  The scholarship is awarded to the applicants showing the greatest merit, as demonstrated by:

(a)      A demonstrated high academic record throughout the first three years of the undergraduate degree;

(b)       achievement in team based activities/subjects;

(c)       personal qualities, including leadership potential;

(d)       balanced their study commitments with extra curricular activities;

(e)       contributed to university life; and

(f)        such other evidence as may seem relevant to future success in their chosen field/profession.

 5.  The value of the award is $1,500.
