
THE ACCENTURE SCHOLARSHIP IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

(Originally established in 1988 as the Andersen Consulting Prize in Computer Science. Revised and updated in 2002. Maintained by an annual gift from Accenture.)
1. The scholarship is open to final year students and is awarded to assist a meritorious student to complete studies in the field of information technology and engineering.
2. A
candidate for the scholarship must be enrolled in the final year in one of the
following:
(a) the honours program in the bachelor of information
technology; or
(b) the bachelor of science (honours in information
technology) program; or
(c) the bachelor of engineering (computer systems
engineering or electrical engineering or software engineering) program.
3. The scholarship is awarded each year by Senate on the recommendation of the Head, School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
4. To assist in the selection process, the Head, School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, must convene a selection committee whose membership may include the Head or nominee, the final year or honours year co-ordinator or other member of the school nominated by the Head, and a representative from Accenture.
5. The
scholarship is awarded to the applicant showing, in the opinion of the Head of
School, the greatest merit, as demonstrated by -
(a) academic achievement during the first three years of the
undergraduate degree;
(b) achievement in team-based activities or courses;
(c) personal qualities, including leadership potential;
(d) involvement in extra-curricular activities;
(e) contribution to University life; and
(f) such other evidence as may seem relevant to future
success in the information technology profession.
6. The value of the scholarship is $1,500.
