Graduate Attributes for the BInfTech/BSc/BA Honours Program

 IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE FIELD OF STUDY

·         A comprehensive understanding of the current state of the art of information technology, including a thorough appreciation of programming in high-level languages, of creating and using information systems and computer systems, and of the technical aspects of software engineering.

·         A thorough understanding of how information technology interacts with society at large, and the effects on society of this interaction.

·         The ability to understand with depth and accuracy the impact of information technology within an organisation.

·         A detailed appreciation of the impact of information technology on the global scale.

·         An deep understanding of at least one area of Information Technology and an appreciation for the current research in that area.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

·         A clear ability to research, collect, analyse, and organise information and ideas effectively in written form suitable for publication in the field of Information Technology.

·         An ability to analyse and present information and ideas effectively in a conference-standard seminar.

·         The ability to argue persuasively, based on a solid research and/or analytical foundation.

·         The ability to interact well with others in a group in order to work towards a common goal.
