Graduate Attributes for Bachelor of Engineering
(Computer Systems) Program
On completion of the program, the graduate will have –
IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE FIELD OF STUDY
Possess knowledge and skills related to computer systems engineering as a whole and in-depth knowledge in at least two specialty areas from: Signals and Systems, Communications, Systems & Networking, Computer Software and Hardware/Software interfaces.
Possess broad knowledge and skills across mathematical, scientific, and information technology disciplines related to computer systems engineering, and an appreciation of how they relate to each other.
Possess knowledge and skills that permit effective participation in a wide range of commercial work environments where computer system engineering finds application.
Appreciate the central role and the characteristics of good design and scientific investigation in computer systems engineering.
Possess core skills for independent research in computer systems engineering at a level appropriate for effective participation in a supervised research environment (PhD or MPhil).
Possess an appreciation of computer systems engineering as an international and collegial activity with trans-national professional values.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
Be able to write about and discuss computer systems engineering issues and demonstrate projects in a manner appropriate for the research community, industry, and government.
