 Dual Degrees

Dual Degrees

A number of dual degree options are available to BInfTech students. These includes Arts, Business Management, Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Journalism, Laws and Science.

Entry requirements

In order to enter a dual degree, you must meet the following conditions:

·         have gained entry to that program in the dual degree which has a higher OP cut-off (e.g., for the LLB/BInfTech, you must have gained entry to the LLB);

·         have met or exceeded the OP/Rank cut-off for both programs as it applied in January 2007; and

·         have met the subject prerequisites for both programs.

How to apply for a dual degree

If you wish to enter a dual degree, you should apply via the Program Change request on mySi-net. You should note that dual degrees are administered by the ‘Responsible Faculty’ so if you are changing to the dual degree with Business Management, Commerce,

Economics or Law, you should address any queries to staff in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL).

Program Requirements

The program requirements for the dual degrees are set out in the respective rules and are available on the website (http://www.uq.edu.au/study). You should note that in some dual degrees (e.g., Arts, Engineering, Science) certain fields of study are not available to students undertaking a dual degree with the BInfTech and these restrictions are set out in the relevant rules.

SUGGESTED ENROLMENT PLANS

If you are undertaking a dual degree with the BInfTech, you must complete the #20 compulsory courses and #12 electives as set out on the following page. You will then need to check the requirements for the other program to ensure that you meet the total requirements for the dual degree.
