- Did somebody say UQ was all theory and not enough
practice? Our Interaction Design programs are all about usability.
They have a core component of project work, in a collaborative,
studio-style setting. Projects can be completed with
industry.
- Interaction Design programs were pioneered at UQ
in modern, dedicated facilities at the Ipswich campus and are now available
at St Lucia.
- Where is the best university teaching in Queensland?
Right here. UQ has been independently rated among
the top band of Australian universities for teaching quality and
number 1 in Queensland. The Interaction Design teachers are
award winners.
- Overall, UQ is rated among the top 33 universities in
the world (Times
Higher Education Supplement, 2007), the top 5 in Asia-Pacific region
(Shanghai Jiao Tong University study, 2007), the top 4 in Australia (Uni Melbourne
study, 2004) and number 1 in Queensland (all three studies).
- As one of the top four research universities in
Australia, UQ attracts high-quality academic staff. Their
research and industry links feed into curriculum design and teaching.
- UQ’s Interaction Design programs are accredited by the
Australian Computer Society. UQ
participates in a number of activities to encourage greater female
participation in the discipline.
- We are stepping up our investment in computing
laboratories, to offer real-world equipment and resources. UQ has
been chosen by the famed Massachusetts Institute of Technology as the
Australian hub for its iCampus
initiative. The School of ITEE is creating remote labs for its
students - real laboratories accessed via the Internet.
- UQ offers other great facilities, beautiful campuses, students from all
over the world, and international exchange programs.
