1 Can I book a study room?
Yes, you can book a room if one is available.

To do this you need to go to the ITEE office and request a room for a specific time and date. You are not able to book a room for any longer than two hours. You will be required to leave your Student Card with the ITEE office to get the key to the study room, which will be returned to you upon return of the key. No eating or drinking is allowed in any ITEE study rooms.

Please be aware that should a staff member require a room you have booked, they have first priority.

2 Is there a fax machine I can use?
Unfortunately not.

3 Where is the public phone in General Purpose South?
There is a public phone located on Level 1 of the General Purpose South Building. Additional phones can be found at the Library end of the Hawken Building.

4 I want to report a problem in the building – where can I do this?
To report a problem within the building you should go to the ITEE office (Level 2, General Purpose South Building) or email office@itee.uq.edu.au.

In case of emergency you should contact the University’s security section on 3365 3333.

5 Is there an internal phone I can use?
Internal phones are located on Level 1 and 2 of General Purpose South Building in rooms 105, 108, 112, 122, 209 and 210.

6 What do I do if the printer is out of paper or not working?
If a printer is out or paper or not working for another reason you should report this to the Student Help Desk via student-helpdesk@itee.uq.edu.au. You should provide the lab number and any information about the type of problem.

7 What do I do if the photocopier is out of paper or not working?
If there is a problem with any of the photocopiers within the School you should report this to the ITEE office (Level 2, General Purpose South Building).

8 What is my printing quota?

9 What is my photocopy quota?

12 What do I do if I have forgotten my PC password?
If you have forgotten your PC password you should go the ITEE office (Level 2, General Purpose South Building).

13 Where to I get help with IT-related questions?
Go to the ITEE Student IT Helpdesk page, http://studenthelp.itee.uq.edu.au/ and click on the Frequently Asked Questions link.

14 I need to submit the Occupational Health and Safety form – where can I do this?
The Occupational Health and Safety form is available from: Ocupational Health and Safety in the Laboratory (Undergraduate Student Edition).

15 Is there a Computer Help Desk I can go to?
There is no physical desk that students can go to. However, the School runs a very efficient email “helpdesk”, you will be given a job number and jobs are handled in an expedient manner.

16 Is there an Engineering Laboratories Help Desk I can go to?
There is no formal Engineering Laboratory Help Desk, if you are having trouble in a lab you should go to either you tutor/lecturer or the lab supervisor in the first instance.
